My aim is to provide value to clients by working closely with them to understand their objectives, and by giving clear, practical and commercial advice.

Profile

Mark specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration.  He has practised commercial dispute resolution in Hong Kong since 1998 at both international and Hong Kong law firms.  He mainly advises on cases concerning debt recovery, sale of goods, construction and engineering, employment, trusts and shareholder disputes. He has considerable experience in international arbitration, regularly advising on disputes conducted under various arbitration rules (e.g. ICC, HKIAC, UNCITRAL).

  • Acting for the former CEO of the subsidiary of an international shipping line in proceedings against the shipping line for unpaid entitlements, and defending claims for breach of fiduciary duties
  • Acting for a high net worth individual and his company in opposing and successfully obtaining the discharge of a freezing injunction granted in aid of foreign proceedings
  • Acting for various foreign companies to recover funds obtained by cyber fraud
  • Acting for a Hong Kong advisory investment company in a dispute with a private equity fund management group concerning unpaid commission
  • Acting for the liquidator of an airline in proceedings to enforce a foreign court judgment in Hong Kong
